Brief Description: Created in 2002 COOPERANDES concentrates on bringing about sustainable development alternatives to the rural poor of Peru. The Agriculture and Forest Programme promotes the sustainable use of productive micro basins through adequate agro forestry, community leadership and environmentally sustainable cattle development. The organization also has a Health Programme that brings basic services in terms of sexual and reproductive health, family planning, general medical assistance and environmental health education to indigenous communities living in the Andes. Through the Microcredit Programme poor men and women have access to small loans in order start up their own businesses and be able to support their families.
